Rockford Area Crime Stoppers Quick 50

In 1994, the "Quick 50" School Program was developed in conjuction with School Administrators, staff, students and area Law Enforcement officials in an effort to encourage students to get involved in making their schools a safer place in which to learn.

The Program allows students who have information regarding criminal activity in and around their schools to remain completely anonymous while reporting the crime. Students can contact designated school counselors, school police officers, or call Crime Stoppers directly. If their information leads to solving a crime, suspension, expulsion or arrest of an offender they are eligible for a cash reward up to $50.00. (In some cases the reward may exceed $50.00). The rewards are paid by use of a designated contact person at the school.

The "Quick 50" Program statistics for the 2006-2007 school year:

1. A total of 89 students were arrested or suspended
2. 117 Cases were cleared
3. Students were paid $3,160.00
